"Football," Ruber grinned. It was almost funny that John hadn't figured it out. It seemed just like Ruber to enjoy aggressively pushing people to the ground. It was the true beauty of the sport, really. Anyone who said differently were either fooling themselves or outright lying. Who wanted to admit they enjoyed violence, right? But it was true. That was the sport. "My father enjoyed basketball. Not professionally, though." The conversation felt weird to Ruber, an odd change to their usual spite and fights. Still, the weirdest thing about it wasn't how uncomfortable Ruber felt, but that lack of discomfort. This wasn't so bad.

"American or European?" He asked specifying which football he was talking about. John preferred soccer to American football. The former had always seemed to him like a more violent sport with all the shoving and tackling. Soccer required more skill and speed and cunning. Anyone willing to put in the work could gain the needed muscle and strength required to knock someone over and make a run for it. But then again, Ruber had the body build for the American sport. But that wasn't going to bother John too much. It felt kind of nice to talk about something for a change that didn't make them snap at each other.

"You're in America now, we speak fucking American." The question had always bothered him. It wasn't like Brits went around England asking each other what kind they meant when they said 'football'. Ruber was an American, it was just as obvious to him what the word meant. In any case John should have picked up on the fact that Ruber spoke American, it was obvious to him that John didn't. Stuck-up, pretty-boy Brits. There always had been something off about Europeans and their wimpy ways.

"We are in a room. And this room could be in whatever country right now. Unless you know something I don't about the person kidnapping us." He said giving the guy a glare. He really was picking up the dumb American act again.
