The smell of food tickled Christopher's nostril as he woke up with a big yawn. He indulged into his morning routine of trying to get enough consciousness back for his early hallucinations to disappear, as he slowly stretched on his bed. He felt slightly lightheaded, as it had twice already before, but not enough for him to worry. He'd recognised his room, just like he had every morning for the past few weeks. He was safe.
What he didn't recognise, though, was the warm body right next to him.
Christopher turned to his left, uncharacteristically calm. Maybe he was getting used to this. Still, he was surprised to see there was a third person in their room. Until now, he'd always been in pairs. Or maybe... ?
He got to his feet, and walked to the sofa where he'd placed the unconscious body of his past roommate – yes, he was worried for his well-being. But still, after a few days, it'd become more and more obvious to him that the man wouldn't wake up, and if he wouldn't, there was no reason for Chris to be uncomfortable while an almost dead, but the big and tall man took all the place on the bed. A little rude probably, but he had priorities. He needed his sleep to not lose his mind.
The important thing was, the body was gone. His pulse was still present yesterday, weak, but still remaining; today, he was nowhere to be seen in the room. Christopher gulped. He knew too well what that must mean.
Trying to ignore these thoughts – a corpse, I've been living with a corpse. He was doomed from the beginning – Chris turned back to his new roomie, a beautiful woman that seemed his age. A redhead again, and also unconscious. He hoped it wouldn't be the same nightmare all over again.
– Hum, hello? – he started shaking her shoulder slightly, deeply hoping this one would be fine – Are you alright miss?
Maybe he should tell Kida about this. Maybe she had a new, warmer body, too.
