John and Izzy kept their life pretty quiet. Somehow there was no need to have long talks or anything like that. But still John felt like he needed to talk to someone. And now that Isabelle was asleep again he moved to the wall he had used to talk with Dimitri and Isabelle before. Stopping himself for a second. Thinking of who might be behind the wall, and what should he talk about. Well only one way to find out he thought and knocked on the wall three times. Somehow ridiculous to knock, but somehow it made sense to him. "Hello? Anyone there?" He asked as he pressed his ear against the wall.

Kida leaned against the wall. She was in a new room but this time, she was all alone. There was no mound of pillows for her to sleep on, the room was nicer, not as nice as the first room she was in but it did not matter much to her. She had no one to talk to. It was almost as bad as her last room, but at least in that room she had a partner who may or may not have been dead on the bed for all she knew. But she at least had another being in the room with her.
A knock startled her out of her own thoughts. She swiftly turned around, pressing both hands against the wall. Her eyes had gone wide. So she wasn't as alone as she may have believed. She let out a shaky breath.
"Hello?" she called back.

John was surprised when someone answered. He had expected it, and still the faint voice somehow surprised him. But he laughed at his own nerves. He was going insane here slowly for sure. "Hi. My name is John." He introduced himself. "What is your name?" He asked her, making himself more comfortable near the wall.

She put a hand to her mouth to keep from laughing. The relief she felt was just overwhelming. She had been afraid. It had been so long since she talked to anyone at all. She had spoken with Miguel. He had told her about the person who had kidnapped them. That they were arranging marriages and it was quite literally until death did they part. It was almost as bad as the games were. Like they were nothing more than living dolls for this Madge person to play house with.
"Kida," she replied quickly. "My name is Kida. It's... really nice to hear from someone."

John smiled a little. "Nice to meet you Kida." He said gently, somehow wishing that they would be talking face to face. That way he could shake her hand or see her face and have much more meaningful conversation. Now he just had to go with the sound of her voice. Speaking of which. He frowned a little when he started to analyse her tone just a little. "Are you alright Kida?" He asked her. She replied to him quickly and did sound somehow relieved, and a bit emotional. Hoping that she had not been roomed with Ruber, or anyone unstable like him. "Has someone hurt you?" He asked her.

"No I'm fine," she assured him.
If by fine she meant physically unharmed. The whole no one to talk to for who knows how long and there being absolutely nothing to do was taking a toll on her. There was literally nothing to do but stare at the wall, pace, eat whatever this Madge woman brought them, shower and sleep. Her days used to be filled with so much more activity and exciting things. Being locked up like this was making her a little stir crazy.
"It's been a while since I've talked to anyone," she said honestly. "I was starting to think... I might have been the only one left."

"Are you sure?" He asked just in case. But he was not going to question her too much. She was a big girl so she could take care of herself. "Alright." He said when he got a confirmation on what was wrong with her. "If you were the last one left that would make you the survivor." He said with a grin, humming a little bit of Destiny's Child's Survivor, trying to get her to smile. He had no way of knowing if he managed that. "Don't tell anyone I know that song." He said to her as a joke.

Kida let herself laugh a little. It was an odd noise. She hadn't laughed in a while. She hadn't done a lot of things in a while. At least someone could keep a level head while things had went to hell and a hand-basket. Kida was not like that. She was a realist. She called it as she saw it. This place was leaving such a mark that she had become more of a pessimist. It was hard to laugh and hard to smile when the death games were looming over them like a shadow. Worst yet, their captor had no intention of letting them go.
"I won't tell," she assured him.

He laughed a little. He felt glad to at least doing something good in this place. "Thank you. It would be a tragedy if people knew how embarrassing I was." He continued his joke. "What about you? You have something embarrassing you do?" He asked wanting to strike up conversation with her.

"Languages," Kida admitted. "I know a lot of them. When I get mad, I accidentally slip into a different one."
It was only fair. He had shared something embarrassing with her. Kida did have a bad habit of forgetting not everyone knew as many languages as she had, so she would begin a conversation in English and slip into Spanish, cursing up a storm before sliding into something more difficult like Russian or Chinese (which she was still learning or rather was learning before her kidnapping). It was a completely unintentional slip, but she would just go on a tirade spewing languages one after another until they created some sort of garbled hodgepodge.

"Languages?" He asked a little confused before she proceeded with the explanation. "That is actually really cool. I wish I knew other languages than just English." He said a bit embarrassed. "I actually had a French girlfriend for a while and all I could muster to learn was 'merci' and 'oui oui'." He said smiling a bit bitterly. "What languages do you know?" He asked smirking a little. "Just in case I get to witness you in action."

"It's not easy," Kida said. "Don't be too hard on yourself."
She just happened to learn English and Greek at the same time. Greek, because she was from Greece. English, because it was one of the most common languages. Spanish was learned for the same reason. She picked up Russian just for fun. Chinese was more for business. She adored learning languages, mostly because it shocked people she knew so much and she knew what they were saying most of the time. Languages were easy once she had picked up a few. Similar words were shared by neighboring dialects and she could probably piece together a conversation in French or Italian despite not knowing the languages but sister languages.
"Let's see... I'm fluent in Greek, English, and Russian. I know basic Spanish. I was learning Chinese for a trip I was... going to take."
She probably wouldn't get to take the trip now. But the distraction was nice. Stop thinking about being trapped. She had it pretty good before Madge jumped into her life like freight train without breaks.
